The main feature in M&B is its combat gameplay. You will be fighting. After you perhaps rest, or re-supply, or go to visit a Lady in an attempt to woo her… you will once again be fighting. This is a land of war, and the only way to rise to power would be through the fires of combat. Luckily, the way combat is handled in M&B is actually one of the best. It incorporates mounted combat perfectly, as well as both close quarter and ranged combat. An example of its combat system would be Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion… but better; much more fluid, and, you have to admit, Oblivion’s mounted combat sucked bad. Jousting was fun (and a bit OP), but it was toned down in Warband. Also, the AI is harder to fight than its predecessor. In M&B, you could take on whole armies on your own with a powerful steed and a couched lance. In Warband, it has been consequently nerfed. It may be still possible, but it’s a farcry from the ease that was experienced before.

Now that my life story is over, on to another topic. When I checked my dashboard this morning, I couldn’t help but noticed that most (but still abysmal) hits on this blog are associated with hit words, like ‘cosplay’, ‘hot cosplay’, ‘hot girls’, and the all-famous ‘pikachu cosplay’. I have come to the conclusion (in my all-knowing, unfallible logic) that the internet is full of horny bastards. You know I’m talking about you. Regardless however, I am not un-merciful. I shall give you what you like, which will include more cosplay, more hot girls, more games (too bad, I like them), and, of course, more hot pikachu. But, for now, since I am at work, you shall have to settle for games.

The game that has been my addiction… my crack… my oh-so-sinful goodness… is a quite popular indie made game called Mount & Blade. Now, I know you horny bastards are probably thinking it’s some kind of Japanese porn, ero, awesome-sauce game for which to pleasure yourself to with one hand while playing with the other… Unfortunately (or fortunately) you are incorrect, and must thusly be informed.

Ah, the bane of my existence and the breeding ground of pubesecent 13 year-olds with impossibly high pitched voices, screaming off-mic to their mom to bring them some pepsi or hot chocolate. While not exactly this scenario (which is heard quite a bit by yours truly for some God-forsaken reason), I’m sure many, if not all, can understand what it is to be “pwned” by some middle schooler that considers their mom’s Victoria Secret’s catalogues as a form os sexual release. [f'ing kids, lol]

 But, let’s put aside the teabagging-annoying-little-douchebag bashing and return to the matter at hand. Modern Warfare 2 is amazing. In this particular post, I’m going to talk about the multiplayer (which had kept me up almost all night raging like a madman about akimbo shotguns, ridiculous 10-ft floorsliding Commando perk kills, and noobtube spamming galore).

 At least they fixed the javelin hacking. For those that don’t know, the javelin missile system in MW2 is an extremely powerful launcher secondary that could lock on to a location or vehicle. When fired, the missile would leave the tube via catapult mechanism, then fire straight up into the air, hitting its target location or vehicle in a (mostly) vertical arc. The blast radius was quite large. Now, the hack caused the launcher to be detonated in the user’s hands, killing himself and anyone within, oh, say 20-30 feet of him. Needless to say, it really made the game OH SO ANNOYING. Although I, for one, think that the banning of these hackers is a bit extreme, what else will keep these griefers from exploiting the system and ruining the game for everyone else? Same goes for the prestige hack, basically cheating to achieve something that would take honest people about a month (near-constant playing, estimation) to get.

However, I digress yet again.

Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer is no doubt an experience. It’s, of course, the tried-and-true experience of the Call of Duty franchise. If you’re not into ridiculous headshots, intense gunfights, gratuitous explosions, insane killstreak usage, AC-130/Chopper Gunner Hell, and the ever so present ‘Gaming’s Tourette’s Syndrome’, then maybe you should stick to Hello Kitty Island Adventure or Viva Pinata (I actually liked Viva Pinata though). Fans of Halo will love this game (fans, maybe not so much fanboys), as it suits the same playstyles such as run-and-gun, slow and cautious, sniping, stealth, grenade whore, griefing, boosting, teamwork, soloing, something something darkside, you get the point.

While it isn’t the most realistic experience… and let’s face it, it isn’t. It’s a lot of fun, the gun selection is decent (but by no means expansive), so gun nuts will only mildly get aroused. Teamplay is insane, as long as you have a decent static party (PUG’s suck) and a mic (this is where Tourette’s Syndrome comes in). Assisting a teammate with getting the 25-kill Nuke Killstreak is absolutely crazy.

That’s right, you heard me! COSPLAY. I know some of you are thinking “Omgwtfbbq u sicko perv!” But, in reality… and this is reality folks… cosplay does wonders for the human psyche (both male and female). Observe!

This, my friends, is Jessica Nigri. Most famous for her pikachu cosplay and the coined phrase (courtesy of LootNinja) “Remember, just because you want to bang a pikachu, that doesn’t make you a deviant.” One of my personal favorites because she isn’t one of those ridiculously meticulate cosplayers that spend thousands of dollars on their one week costume. Her’s are simple, yet oh so very enticing, and would probably cost at the most $200 USD. Those interested in her other ‘kosu-pure‘ click the jump. As you can see, it’s not just limited to Japanese characters.

I, personally, am a fan of female cosplay (if you haven’t noticed, and yes, I know, I’m a sicko, got it), but I did say “does wonders for the human psyche (both male and female)”. While I do know some girls that get all touchy-feely over girls in a sexualized Sasuke outfit (see narutard… er naruto), plenty get all hot and bothered by jump. I suppose it’s the same concept. Girls want to be taken by their as-close-as-possible-fantasy-guy, and guys want to screw female versions of guys (I know, wtf). Cosplay as an aphrodisiac? More likely than you know!

Anyhow, as Japan is the origin of most of the weirdest stuff in the world (and by relativity, the most awesome stuff), it’s not surprising that cosplay tops the lists. They say cosplay at events originated from Japan in 1978, but they have now have numerous anime/gaming/cosplay conventions all over the world… and even here in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. For those interested, Hawaii is hosting the Kawaii-kon, an anime convention from April 17-19  weekend (I believe, gotta check the calendar). Will I be there? Maybe. Maybe working as a staffer in gaming. Again. Argh. Or maybe just cruising around attending the events. But hey, fun’s the same with friends and plenty of eyecandy (for the most part), regardless if they’re all wearing frilly pink costumes and such.
